Flickr
I’ve been playing with flickr the last few days .. I must say I am impressed with the amount of tools, functionalities, api available.
I don’t consider myself to be a dumb user, however I had a hard time finding out how to do simple things, but after a while I found my way around, figured out the basic principles “flickr” is built around.
One thing I still can’t do is change the photo that is shown as the set’s thumbnail. I tried the organizer to put the picture I wanted first but that did not help.
I find the interface a little messy and not well structured. There are many ways to get to the same screen which can sometimes be useful I admit, but also confusing. But I think it’s because I am not really used to these “new” social, sharing type applications, where almost everything can be shared in a dozen various ways. Come on guys, let’s share an RSS feed of your flickr photos and don’t forget to put up a ‘Flickr badge’ 
I’ll see how it goes
I sent out a few invitations to see how friends or family feels about flickr and optionnaly go back to my “old” php gallery
